Key Project Facts:

Cleaned existing brick with mild detergent and soft bristle brush.

Tuckpointed where mortar was missing or deteriorated.

Replaced existing cast stone sills with new stone sills. Matched existing color, profile, and shape. This included all window and door sills as well as window surrounds, bands, entry copings, mullion stones, and other stone.

Replace all damaged or deteriorated lintels with new steel lintels.  Lintels were replaced with galvanized steel lintels that include flashing, where appropriate, and bear 8” on the masonry. Care was
taken to match the replacement brick as closely as possible.

Cleaned and secured the existing cast stone elements.  Repaired missing, cracked, spalling and damaged components.

Any stone that was not replaced was assessed for proper anchorage and damage. All decorative cap stones at the top of the fourth floor mullions were removed, cleaned, and reanchored.

Appropriate stones were patched or plastered, as appropriate.  Other stones were reanchored and/or patched as needed.

Brick Replacement:  Replaced a total of approximately 630 cracked, spalled, or otherwise damaged bricks on all elevations. Poe Restoration matched them as closely as possible in color and texture.

Built new shaft of 8” CMU reinforced vertically and horizontally from a depth of approximately 4’ below the basement floor to a height extending approximately 3’ above the roof;
